Last reviewed: October 5, 2026

CostKits helps families understand and manage medical bills. That only works if everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control or magnification, can use it. We are working to make costkits.com and app.costkits.com conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

Where we are

In October 2026 we audited our public website (cost pages, learn articles, help and sign-up pages) and the signed-in application (bills, visits, tasks, documents, forecast, insurance, account and the assistant chat). We tested with the axe-core automated engine against WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules, and checked keyboard operation, focus handling, mobile layouts and dialogs by hand. We fixed the issues we found, including text contrast, form labels, dialog focus management, keyboard access to scrollable tables and mobile navigation names.

Automated tools find only part of the problems. We have not yet had a third-party audit or a full test with a range of screen readers, so we describe our site as working toward conformance rather than fully conformant.
